Live-in companionship care
For someone who's lonely, anxious on their own, or simply needs a hand with daily life, a live-in companion can bring back company and routine. We introduce experienced carers you meet and choose yourself.
From £1,095 a week across East Sussex, West Sussex, Surrey, Kent, Berkshire and Hampshire. Ask us about your situation
Is live-in companionship right for your loved one?

- Company every dayConversation, shared meals and someone to spend the day with.
- Getting out againWalks, shopping, visiting friends, clubs and appointments.
- Help around the homeCooking, housework and keeping on top of things.
- Room to growThe same carers can help with personal care if needs change.
Why not a care home?
- Life carries on at home: their own kitchen, garden, pets, neighbours and routine, with one-to-one care.
- The house stays yours: when care is at home, the council doesn't count the house in its means test. Will we have to sell the house?
- It usually costs less: from £1,095 a week, against nursing home fees from £1,750 to £1,950 a week in our counties. For a couple who both need care, less than half. See the comparison
What can a live-in companion help with?
When live-in care through us isn't enough
- Nursing or clinical care
- Care that needs two people at once
Matched on personality, not just experience
For companionship, getting on well matters most. We introduce carers whose interests and temperament suit your loved one, and you meet them before deciding.
Every carer we introduce has passed an enhanced DBS check, including the Adults' Barred List. We follow up two professional references and one personal reference, check their insurance, and meet every carer personally before they meet you.
“Took a while to get used to the idea of another person in the house but within weeks Henriette was part of the family. We should probably have done this sooner.”
Common questions
Is companionship care cheaper?
It's the same weekly price as all our live-in care.
What if they need more help later?
The same carers can usually help with more as needs change. If needs grow beyond live-in care, your carers will tell you honestly.
Can the carer drive?
Many carers do drive, and this can be part of what we look for when matching carers to your needs. Carers who use their own car carry appropriate car insurance.

Thinking about a companion for your loved one?
“Working with Susan, aged 74, as her live-in carer has shown me that companionship is just as important as practical support. Taking the time to listen, share conversations and build a trusting relationship can make a meaningful difference to someone’s day, helping them feel valued, connected and less alone.”
